The High Court (HC) on Monday ordered Anti-Corruption Commission (ACC) to launch probe into allegations of corruption against top officials of Bangladesh Football Federation (BFF), including its president Kazi Salahuddin.

A High Court division bench of Justice Md Nazrul Islam Talukder and Justice Khizir Hayat passed the order and issued a rule in this regard.

The court came up with the order after holding primary hearing on a writ petition filed on behalf of Barrister Suman Football Academy. The court asked the anti-graft body to complete its probe in four months.

The High Court in its rule asked the authorities concerned to explain as to why its failure or inaction in taking necessary legal action over the allegations of money laundering, forgery and embezzlement against Kazi Salahuddin, Abdus Salam Murshedy and Abu Nayeem Shohag, shall not be declared illegal.

Supreme Court lawyer and chairman of Barrister Suman Football Academy, Syed Sayedul Haque Suman moved the plea before the court, while senior advocate Khurshid Alam Khan argued for the ACC.

Officials including ACC Chairman, Sports Secretary and NBR Chairman were made respondents in the writ.
