The High Court (HC) on Sunday asked authorities concerned to prepare a list of language heroes and martyrs and submit it within next six months, reports BSS.
Justice FRM Nazmul Ahasan and Justice KM Kamrul Kader passed the order after holding hearing on a writ filed in this regard.
Supreme Court lawyer Advocate Shubir Nandi Das filed the writ, while he and Advocate Ishrat Hasan moved the writ before the court.
“The court asked to form a committee headed by Cultural Affairs Ministry Secretary in this regard and ordered him to submit a list on framework of the committee and progress on preparing the list by next two months,” Advocate Ishrat said.
Advocate Shubir Nandi Das filed the writ on February 27, seeking court’s direction for giving allowance to language heroes and martyrs and protecting monuments related to language movement.
