The High Court (HC) on Monday issued a rule asking authorities concerned to explain as to why it shall not pass an order to form a board of trust and raise a fund as per Road Transport Act to give compensation to the victims of road accident and their families.
A High Court division bench comprising Justice M Enayetur Rahim and Justice
Md Mostafizur Rahman passed the order after holding a hearing on a writ filed in this regard.
The court asked the Road, Transport Secretary, Law Secretary, Finance Secretary, Public Security Division Secretary and Chairman of Bangladesh Road
Transport Authority to reply within four weeks. Advocate Manoj Kumar Bhoumik moved the plea before the court while Deputy Attorney General Bipul Baghmar stood for the state.
