An HC bench of Justice Tariq Ul Hakim and Justice Mohammad Suhrawardy came up with the suo moto order taking into account the reports published in different national dailies.

The HC also directed the city corporations to submit compliance reports by July 22 issuing rule.

Two city corporations' mayors and CEOs, the health Secretary, the LGRD secretary and the DG of the Health Directorate have been made respondents to the rule.

In the rule, the court asked to know why the inaction of the defendants to take effective steps in preventing the mosquito menaces should not be considered as beyond legal jurisdiction and why legal action should not be taken against those responsible in taking effective steps.
