Noakhali Dwip Upazila Hatiya and Nijhum Dwip are bringing under 100 percent electrification. To this regard submarine cable installation of 1.5 lakh kilometer under the river inaugurated on Wednesday.
Noakhali-6 constituency Member Of Parliament Ayesha Ferdous inaugurated the installation of submarine cable at Bandartila in Nijhum Dwip organized by Bangladesh Power Development Board.
Upazila Chairman Mahbub Morshed presided over the programme when upazila Awami League President and former Member of Parliament Mohammad Ali, Hatiya 100 percent Electrification Project Director Engineer Md. Farooq Ahmed, UP Chairman Md. Dinaj Uddin and Masum Billah were also present.
In the context of ‘Hatiya Island, Nijhum Dwip and Kutubdia Island 100 pc Reliable and Sustainable Electrification’ project the ECNEC approved the project at a cost of Tk 384.38 crore on February last year.
