Hasan flies to France to inaugurate Bangabandhu biopic trailer at Cannes

Information and Broadcasting Minister and Awami League Joint General Secretary Dr Hassan Mahmood left for France on Tuesday night to attend the launch of the trailer of the movie 'Mujib: The Making of a Nation' at the 75th Cannes Film Festival.

The event will be held at the Indian Pavilion today (Thursday), at the Cannes Film Festival, the busiest commercial branch of world cinema, titled 'Marche du Film'.

The minister will take part in the inauguration of the trailer of this biopic on the life and work of Father of the Nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman. Hasan Mahmud, Indian Minister for Information and Broadcasting and Youth Affairs and Sports Anurag Singh Thakur, Biopic director Shyam Benegal, screenwriters Atul Tiwari and Shama Zaidi, and lead actors and officials will be present.

Executive producer of the biopic and managing director of Bangladesh Film Development Corporation (BFDC) Nuzhat Yasmin, casting director of Bangladesh part Bahar Uddin Khelon, director of BFDC Md Ishan Ali Raja Bangali, deputy secretary Md Saiful Islam, Bangabandhu's character actor Arefin Shuvo along with his infant daughter Ilaham Nusrat Farooqi has joined the tour.

Note that the shooting of the movie started in the beginning of 2021. The film is set to release this year. Apart from Arefin Shuvo and Nusrat Imroz Tisha, Nusrat Faria in the role of Sheikh Hasina, Riaz Ahmed in the role of Tajuddin Ahmed and more than a hundred Bangladeshis have acted in it.
