Information and Broadcasting Minister Hasan Mahmud has asked the district administrators to take action against false information, confusion and rumours.
In the second session of the district administrators conference held at Osmani Memorial Auditorium on Thursday afternoon Minister Hasan Mahmud said “We have registered 170 online portals so far, about 170 more online portals have been registered, apart from this 15-16 online portals have been registered as television portals.” “Besides,” he also said, “Many unregistered online portals are operated at the district level. We have registered 12 IPTVs so far. No IPTV is registered outside of this. The rest are unregistered. Controlling them is a big challenge for us.”
Mentioning the importance of District Administrator Conference, the Minister said, “District Administrator Conference is a regular program of government administration. The activities of the government are implemented through the district administration. Because the common people always approach the district administration.”
Meanwhile, Minister Hashan Mahmud also said, “We have told the District Commissioners that if you see someone spreading confusion, rumors and false news, you will take legal action against them. We can take immediate action if we are notified. Along with the misleading information, the correct news should also be reported by the administration.”
Inaugurating the three-day 'District Administrators Conference-2023' from the Prime Minister's Office on Tuesday, Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina said, "We want to provide all kinds of facilities to the people of every village. It will reduce the tendency towards cities, increase the economic activity in the villages.”
