Finding no other alternative to stem the spread of the prevailing Covid-19 pandemic, the government is going to implement harsh lockdown in different specific areas or red zones across the country.

Reportedly, the government identified around 100 areas as red zones across the country and lockdown has started being enforced in those areas gradually.

We are told that the fresh lockdown system would be enforced strictly so that people follow health guidelines and maintain social distancing properly.

Bangladesh has been experiencing a widespread transmission of coronavirus in the community for last several weeks. A rapid increase in infection rate is reigniting fears that the pandemic, which has already infected more than 90 thousand people in Bangladesh is nowhere close to end.

In order to make the second phase

of lockdown successful we must

follow the government directives

Analysing soaring numbers of coronavirus infection rates in the country, it can be said that the deadly virus is spreading fast in the community level. As the number of fatalities is increasing rapidly, it is very important to make people stay home at this moment to quell community transmission.

As the government has reopened the economic sectors, the responsibility of people to protect themselves and others have become the key defence against the pathogen.

Also in this stage aggressive measures to find, isolate, test, treat and trace are not only the best and fastest way out of extreme social and economic restrictions – they’re also the best way to prevent them. Let’s break the chain and protect our nation against this pandemic with social distancing and self isolation.

People across the country should take the deadly disease seriously and take more precautions because even developed nations like the US are not able to stop the spread of the disease despite having the best of resources and technology.

In order to make the second phase of lockdown successful, the government must take drastic measure to compel people to maintain social distance and make sure that the food and financial assistance reach all vulnerable groups including the middle-class.
