Happy 80th birthday, Syed Abdul Hadi

Syed Abdul Hadi is a living legend in the music scene of Bangladesh. Today, July 1, his birthday. He has gifted many timeless songs to the country and her people. 

Well known musician Syed Abdul Hadi is turning 80 today. However, there are no special plans for the day. Syed Abdul Hadi said that he never made any special arrangements for his birthday. Everyone gives him the compliments of the day and prays for him, this is his great achievement. 

Syed Abdul Hadi said, ‘I have never been particularly interested in celebrating birthdays. It is the same now too. I love spending time with family. If a person lives, his age will increase in the ongoing process that is normal. There is nothing special about it. Allah has kept me healthy and well, Alhamdulillah.”

Syed Abdul Hadi is quite satisfied with his song released on Father’s Day titled ‘Baba Cheler Tan’ released on the YouTube channel of Dhrubo Music Station. The song is written by Suhrid Sufian. The melody of the song is composed by Kishore Das. 

The music is composed by Sumon Kalyan and Kishore Das. Juboraj Asif Akbar sang the song with Syed Abdul Hadi. Syed Abdul Hadi never sang for anything in return. He sings out of his love for music and singing. 

He started his journey through his first playback in 1960s. After singing in several Urdu films, he sang for the first time in a Bengali film in 1964 in Mostafizur Rahman’s film ‘Dak Babu’. 

He sang the song ‘Chaturi Janena Mor Badhua’ written by Mohammad Moniruzzaman to the tune of Ali Hossain. The song was very popular at that time. 

Syed Abdul Hadi has done most duet songs with Sabina Yasmin. He won the first National Film Award for his performance in Amjad Hossain’s ‘Golapi Ekhon Train-e’. In 2000, he was awarded the Ekushey Padak.

 A special song was sung about Syed Abdul Hadi, Ekushey Padak winner, on his birthday five years ago today. The title of the song was ‘Tumi Chuyecho Nilimar Nil’. 

Fahmida Nabi, Muhin, Champa and several other artists sang the song with lyrics by Omar Faruq and melody by National Film Award winning music director Farid Ahmed.
