Police recovered the hanging body of a female student from a dormitory of Dhaka Medical College (DMC) in the capital on Wednesday.
The deceased was identified as Jaya Kunda, 22, a fifth-year K-76 batch student of the Dhaka Medical College.
Jaya Kunda was found hanging from the ceiling in a room of Alim Chowdhury Chhatra Nibas of the DMC in the morning, said police.
In-charge of Dhaka Medical College Hospital police outpost Md Bachchu Mia confirmed the matter. He said that the fellows Jaya Kunda saw her hanging from the ceiling with a scarf in the room number 45 of the dormitory and immediately rushed her to the hospital’s emergency department at about 11:45am in an unconscious state.
According to him, the on duty doctors at the emergency department, after examining her, said that she was brought dead.
Police suspected that this is an incident of suicide. However, the real fact will be cleared after the autopsy report, said police.
