Hajj flights begin on May 31

The authorities concerned are working to inaugurate the hajj flight on May 31. With at least one flight they are trying to start the hajj flight, according to Religious Affairs Ministry sources. In the meantime, Saudi government has approved flight slots in this connection.

According to the ministry development wing, they are continuing their efforts to start the Hajj flight on May 31. This time around 800 people will go for Hajj at the government's expense. Work is underway to run at least one inaugural flight of the Hajj with them on May 31.

Additional Secretary of the Hajj Wing of the ministry Md. Matiul Islam said, “We are working to inaugurate the Hajj flight on May 31 by operating at least one flight.”

HAAB president Shahadat Hossain Taslim said, “It would be difficult to complete all the preparations within the time available. The Hajj flight will be inaugurated on May 31 with a flight. We have proposed to reschedule the hajj flight on June 10. But it has not yet been decided when regular flights will start.”

Additional Secretary of the Hajj Wing of the ministry Md. Matiul Islam said the slot has been allowed to operate regular flights for Hajj. Hopefully the agencies will be able to finish the activities. It will be possible to operate regular flights before June 10. 

Hajj will be held in Saudi Arabia on July 8, subject to the sighting of the moon. This time 57,585 people will be able to go for Hajj from Bangladesh. Of them, 4,000 will be able to go for Hajj under government management and 53,585 under private management.

Officially this year it will cost Tk 527,340 to go for Hajj under package-1. Pilgrims of this package will stay within a distance of 1,000 meters from the Masjidul Haram. The minimum package has been fixed at Tk 462,000 under package-2. Under this package, pilgrims will stay within 1,500 meters of the Grand Mosque.

A package of Tk 456,530 has been proposed for the pilgrims under private management. However, privately managed Hajj agencies will be able to announce multiple packages in conjunction with Government Management Package-1 and Package-2.

As the Coronavirus situation is under control, this time maximum 1 million devotees from different countries of the world are getting the opportunity of performing Hajj.
