Mayor of Khulna City Corporation Talukder Abdul Khaleque inaugurated the National Vitamin A Plus Campaign at Khalishpur Collegiate Girls School in the city on Sunday morning.
During the inauguration, the city mayor said that it is the responsibility of the parents to protect the child. The government is doing everything for the welfare of children. Vaccines play an effective role in the growth of a child. In order to ensure the health of the children, the concerned including the parents have to fulfil their responsibilities.
Care should be taken to ensure that no child is left out of the Vitamin A Plus campaign. Ward 11 Councillor Munshi Abdul Wadud presided over the function and reserved women councilor Parveen Akhter was the special guest. KCC Chief Executive Officer Palash Kanti Bala, Director Health Dr Rasheda Sultana, Civil Surgeon Dr Sujat Ahmed, UNICEF Representative Dr Shahana among others spoke on the occasion. KCC Chief Health Officer AM Abdullah welcomed the gathering.
Later, the mayor inaugurated the program by feeding vitamin A capsules to the children.
