Twenty-four universities, including general and science & technology institutions, are set to conduct the first-year admission test for the fourth time in a cluster system, aiming to streamline the process for aspiring students.
Scheduled to kick off on Saturday, April 27, with the 'A' unit exam, 305,346 candidates are poised to participate across three units, as announced in a press release by Md. Abdur Rashid, Deputy Director of Public Relations (acting) at Jessore Science and Technology University.
To ensure a seamless testing experience, the GST Integrated Admission Committee has dispatched question papers from Jessore University of Science and Technology (Yabiprabi) to distant universities with stringent security measures. Distribution to nearby universities will conclude by April 26. In total, 170,599 applicants have sought admission in the 'A' unit, 94,631 in 'B' unit, and 40,116 in 'C' unit across the 24 universities.
According to the GST website, the admission test for science department applicants in the 'A' unit will be held from noon to 1 pm on April 27, followed by the Architecture Practical (Drawing) Examination from 3:30 pm to 4:30 pm. Humanities students in 'B' unit will sit the exam on May 3, and 'C' unit candidates on May 10, both from 11 am to 12 pm. Candidates are advised to arrive at their respective centers one hour prior to the exam for necessary formalities. Prof Md Anwar Hossain, Convenor of the Integrated Admission Committee of GST Cluster Universities, expressed confidence in the test's smooth conduct. He urged parents to refrain from visiting centers due to the ongoing heatwave and requested cooperation from university authorities to ensure candidate safety.
Prof Hossain seeks cooperation from all university stakeholders for the successful completion of the admission test. He highlights adequate provisions for water and first aid will be made, with executive magistrates and law enforcement deployed to maintain order. Strict measures against electronic device usage during the exam will be enforced.
The 24 universities under the cluster include Jagannath University (Dhaka), Shahjalal University of Science and Technology (Sylhet), and many more, spanning the nation.
