The government is working to develop modern technology-based software to conduct official work of different ministries and departments easily and smoothly. In this regard, Bangladesh Computer Council (BCC) under Information and Communications Technology Division has taken a project titled ‘e-Government ERP’.
Sources concerned said, BCC is developing the ERP software. Out of nine modules of the main software, four modules in beta version has been completed so far. The four modules include — meeting management, Inventory, Asset Management and Procurement.
A review progresses meeting on the software development held on Sunday at BCC conference room at ICT tower in the capital. BCC Data Centre Director, Tareque M Barkatullah was present as chief guest in the meeting while project director Ashok Kumar Roy was in the chair.
At the meeting, completed four beta version modules of ERP were projected. The modules have already been transferred in the data centre of BCC. The new software will be introduced soon, after transferring it to cloud server of the BCC. The authority will hold a workshop with its stakeholders for getting feedback opinions to complete final development of the software. Then the authority will start the training the users.
Representatives of a2i have expressed their satisfaction over the effectiveness of the software. They assured the authority concerned to give all sorts of support. BCC Data Centre Director, Tareque M Barkatullah said already the government and non-government offices started using Oracle and SAP. The government will make time befitting ERP software through local company, which saves money.
Project director Ashoke Kumar Roy, CEO of software developer institution Cokreates Mustafizur Rahman, directors and developers of Synesis IT and nominated consultants and representatives from a2i, BUET and the project were present at the meeting.
