Grameenphone has been awarded the highest taxpayer in 2020-2021 tax year in the telecommunication category by the National Board of Revenue (NBR) for the sixth time in a row since the tax year 2015-2016, for its highest amount of tax contribution to the state coffer.
In a bid to honor the highest taxpayers with cards and crests, NBR has organized an event on Wednesday in the capitals Officers’ Club.
Finance Minister, A H M Mustafa Kamal attended the event as the chief guest, while Md. Jashim Uddin, President, FBCCI, was present as the special guest.
Abu Hena Md Rahmatul Muneem, Senior Secretary, Internal Resources Division (IRD) and Chairman, NBR, presided over the ceremony.
Jens Becker, Chief Financial Officer (CFO) of Grameenphone, was handed off the tax card, crest, and certificate for the significant contribution Grameenphone has made to the government expenditure on economic infrastructure for the betterment of the citizens.
