Checks of financial assistance were given to brave freedom fighters, poor and distress people of the district on the initiative of Chattogram Zilla Parishad.
Chattogram Zilla Parishad Chairman ATM Pearul Islam distributed these financial assistance checks at the temporary office of Zilla Parishad on Tuesday. Chief Executive Officer Shabbir Iqbal presided over the meeting.
ATM Payrul Islam said to the general beneficiaries that Sheikh Hasina has taken all possible steps for the welfare of all the people of the country. Now the current government is working to fulfill the basic needs of the people and improve the standard of living of the common people of the country. The brave freedom fighters did not fight for the country with any greed. You fought to make the country free. My council will always be open for brave freedom fighters and I will try to solve any problem for them. Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina is working to fulfil her father's dream. Hon'ble Prime Minister is always by the side of helpless people to deal with epidemic or any calamity. 54 philanthropic activities of the social safety net are being implemented including the welfare of the poor, disadvantaged children, orphans, disabled, teenagers, widowed women, elderly, widows, indigent people including maternity allowance, development and sustainable projects of Bangladesh. Under the social security program, mobile financial services are being delivered directly to the doorsteps of beneficiaries' allowances and grants through G-to-P system. Along with the government, we all need to stand by the common people from our respective positions.
He said, I believe that Chattogram Zilla Parishad and various institutions of the government will always play a more important role in bringing all the disadvantaged people of the country back to the mainstream of social development and achieving the sustainable development goals announced by the United Nations. All should work together to make Bangladesh the dream of the father of the nation, the Sonar Bangla and the smart Bangladesh of Honorable Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina.
