Asif Mahmud Sajib Bhuiyan, Adviser to the Local Government, Rural Development and Cooperatives and Youth and Sports Ministry, has affirmed the government’s strong commitment to youth empowerment and national development.
Speaking as the chief guest at the inauguration of a Mini Stadium in Natore sadar upazila, he also launched 13 similar facilities across 10 districts via virtual mode. Nearly 150 Mini Stadiums have now been inaugurated nationwide, with more to follow.
“As youth were at the forefront of the July uprising, we are taking concrete steps to secure their future,” he said.
The government has introduced an Entrepreneur Development Policy and is modernizing the Youth Loan Policy to boost self-employment. In collaboration with BIDA and the ICT Ministry, a task force is establishing a tech-driven ecosystem for young entrepreneurs, including AI training programes.
Asif Mahmud emphasized the need for decentralized sports management and urged local stakeholders to ensure the year-round maintenance of sports facilities.
The new Mini Stadiums feature modern amenities, including three-story pavilions, tiered galleries, and gender-separated restrooms
The event was chaired by Natore DC Asma Shaheen. Senior officials from the Youth & Sports Ministry, LGED, and National Sports Council attended.
