State Minister for Foreign Affairs ShahriarAlam on Sunday said the government will transform the country into smart Bangladesh overcoming all obstacles as per the planning of Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina.
"We have been able to make Digital Bangladesh timely as per the planning of the premier," he said while inaugurating the daylong 'Rajshahi Smart Employment Fair- 2023' at Charghat Upazila Parishad auditorium in the district as chief guest.
State Minister for Information and Communication Technology (ICT) Zunaid Ahmed Palak addressed the opening ceremony as special guest with Deputy Commissioner Shamim Ahmed in the chair. Charghat Upazila Chairman Fakhrul Islam, Municipal Mayor EkramulHaque and Project Director of Sheikh Rusel IT Park SMA Rafiqunnabi also spoke.
On the occasion, State Minister ShahriarAlam handed over bank cheques worth Taka 15 lakh to 30 smart women side by side with distributing certificates among five others under the learning and earning project.
He also said Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina's government is working with the determination to build a Smart Bangladesh.
"Digital Bangladesh has already been built and time has come to build Smart Bangladesh with the prudent and farsighted leadership of the Premier," he added.
Smart Bangladesh could be possible when the cherished progress in the field of industries, factories, trade, business, health, education and agriculture will attain.
"We have no more time to look backward but we have to look forward as the present Bangladesh has been marching forward vibrantly," he added.
ICT State Minister Zunaid Ahmed Palak said many of the youths are earning foreign currencies through freelancing and this is smart Bangladesh.
He said the present government has established Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujib Hi-tech Park in Rajshahi and it has already started becoming an employment hub for youths creating enthusiasm among the young generation.
At present, around 400 youths have been engaged in various works, including software development, site maintenance of famous companies and file works as per demand from abroad, generating working atmospheres in the park.
