In a bid to provide proper health services in every corner of the country, our government is planning to expand the eye treatment facilities by establishing community vision centre (CVC) at upazila level.
CVC facility is the part of government’s long term plan to digitalize the country’s medical facilities further. The government wants to take the full advantage of latest technology in treatment, so that through it they can provide eye care at the grassroots level.
However, in order to do that, the government must also raise awareness among the grassroots and less advantaged people about the importance of eye treatment. The people in rural areas do not often seem to care much about their own health and therefore government should carry out extensive awareness building programs about the need for eye treatment through the use of CVC.

There are numerous challenges which are creating barriers to take our country’s medical and eye treatment to the next level. We know that there has always been an imbalance in the distribution of doctors and healthcare workers in our country.
This ultimately creates a challenge for the doctors as they cannot allocate sufficient time for each patient. On top of it, most specialized eye doctors or doctors of any health sector provides more services in urban areas than in the rural areas.
This problem has now been tackled through CVC facilities as everyone does not need to visit a specialized doctor in person, as grassroots people can now access the treatment facility from the community clinics.
Many members of the marginalized groups who are derived from costly eye treatment can now avail benefits through this initiative of the government. We believe that receiving this treatment facility will add a new meaning to their lives.
