The government is agree with journalists’ demands for standardized qualifications within the field of journalism.
During a panel discussion at the BCS Administration Academy Auditorium in Shahbagh, State Minister for Information and Broadcasting Mohammad Ali Arafat said this.

The state minister said, “According to the demands of journalists, there needs to be something to determine journalistic qualifications. If the government says this, it will be said that the government is trying to control them. That is why journalists should raise their voice on this matter. This should be written in all places in the country and abroad. You have to make a statement nationally and internationally that you want it. The government agreed with the demands of the journalists. The government has no problem with this. The government will resolve the issue.”
Arafat also underscored the critical role of journalists in combating misinformation and disinformation, noting the ongoing battle against falsehoods that threaten to distort historical truths, particularly regarding the Liberation War.
He conveyed the government’s commitment to ensuring that laws, including cyber security legislation, are not misused to infringe upon the rights of innocent citizens.
The State Minister's remarks reflect the government's willingness to engage with journalists and address their concerns, affirming the shared goal of fostering a responsible and credible media landscape in Bangladesh.
