Law, Justice and Parliamentary Affairs Minister AnisulHuq, MP, on Sunday said people have already started getting amplified benefits from the judiciary system due to various pioneering steps of the incumbent government.
"Be well-prepared through capacity building by acquiring knowledge and skills . . . Because it is one of the duties of judges to ensure quality justice to the litigants within the shortest possible time at low cost," he told judges while inaugurating a four-month basic training course for assistant judges or equivalent judicial officers at the Judicial Administration Training Institute in Dhaka on Sunday.
He said, "Moreover, it is the duty of judges to establish dynamism, transparency and accountability in the administration of the judicial system."
Noting that knowledge and skill-based human resources should be developed to build a developed Bangladesh, the minister said without necessary knowledge and skills it is not possible to build a happy, prosperous and developed Bangladesh as dreamt by Father of the Nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman. The present government led by Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina has given special priority to the education, research and training sectors from the very beginning to develop knowledge and skill-based human resources, he mentioned.
Mentioning that in the era of new globalisation, global technology is constantly developing and, as a result, knowledge of technology is expanding in all sectors of the country.
"Skilled manpower is also being created, posing a positive impact on the production and service sectors of the country," Anisul added.
The law minister also called upon the judges or judiciary concerned to perform their duties efficiently by being updated with new laws, judicial decisions, changing scope and working environment as the social, political and economic context are changing frequently.
About this training session, AnisulHuq also said, "Training is an ongoing process . . . It shouldn't be that a judge should be trained once and perform duty for life. Judges are being given various types of training at home and abroad, the journey of which starts with providing basic training."
Director General of Judicial Administration Training Institute Justice NazmunAra Sultana presided over the session.
Secretary of Law and Justice Division Md Golam Sarwar and Director (Training) of the Institute Sheikh Ashfakur Rahman, among others, spoke on the occasion.
