Job creation program for the poor adopted by the government in Mahmudpur Union of Melandah Upazila in Jamalpur is being completed successfully. A 100pc implementation of these job creation projects has made it easier to travel due to the neglected public road repairs that have been ignored for more than two decades.
The standard of living has increased. In this year's job creation program, 395 extremely poor workers are working in 6 projects in Mahmudpur Union. The cost of the project is 75 lakh 34 thousand 259 rupees.
Mohammad Aziz, a village doctor of Mahmudpur Union, said that the road repairs from Nalchia Sarkar Bari to Khasimara Jal Haque's house would benefit the farmers by selling their produce easily and in a short time in the market.
Rahim Mia of Poyla village said that the road from Pachla to Karjjaman's shop has not been worked for almost 20 years. There were many difficulties in movement.
The road has been repaired by the present government's extremely poor job creation program, which has made it much easier for them to travel and transport goods.
Besides, Phulbanu of Char Govindi village said that many people used to suffer on the road from Chan Mandal's house in Char Gobindri village to Alfur's house. Matikata can now be easily accessed by repairing this road under the job creation program adopted by the government at present.
In this regard, the chairman of Mahmudpur union of Melandah upazila said, the promise of the present government is that the village will be the city, the very poor people of the village will get the modern facilities of the city. Through the program adopted by the government, the neglected public roads for more than two decades have been made suitable.
Melandah Upazila Nirbahi Officer Mohammad Shafiqul Islam said that they are working hard to implement the vision of the present government to build a modern, digital and prosperous model Mahmudpur Union and to deliver government services to the people.
He said that the project is being properly supervised. If any kind of irregularity or corruption is observed in this regard, necessary action will be taken against him under the direction of officials.
