The government is continuing relief distribution across the country as part of its humanitarian assistance to reduce people’s sufferings amid the coronavirus pandemic, reports BSS.
The government has so far provided relief to 7 crore 38 lakh 83 thousand 637 people of about 1 crore 68 lakh 74 thousand 842 families across the country, said a press release.
According to the information received from the district administrations of 64 districts, around 2,12,984 metric tons of rice have been allocated as relief, while 1,98,234 metric tons have been distributed as of July 8.
The government has so far allocated more than Tk125 crore in cash as relief for distribution.
Of the total amount, Tk98,30,78,000 has been allocated as cash assistance and Tk94 ,91,50,000 have already been distributed.
Moreover, Tk27.20 crore was allocated for baby food aid while about Tk26.40 crore and 54 thousand has already been distributed among about 18 lakh 24 thousand 859 people of about 8 lakh 47 thousand families across the country.
