Rangamati district administration on Monday provided a financial assistance of three lakh taka, on behalf of the Chief Advisor's Relief and Welfare Fund, for the treatment of the mother of national women's football team's star winger Ritu Porna Chakma.
Ritu Porna's elder sister, Pampi, received the cheque from Rangamati District Commissioner Mohammad Habib Ullah at the conference room of Rangamati DC office.
He said, Rituparna is a talented female footballer and the pride of our country. She is earning fame for the country. The mother of this player, Pratitha, has been suffering from breast cancer for a long time. We have all been with Rituparna's family since the beginning. This financial assistance has been provided by the Chief Advisor so that her mother's treatment is not disrupted.
Additional Deputy Commissioner Mohammad Ruhul Amin and NDC SM Manna were present at the time.
