Govt pledge to ensure good governance in listed cos lauded

Speakers tell ICSB Foundation Day event

The government's commitment to ensuring good corporate governance and corporate culture in the listed companies of Bangladesh is laudable, said speakers at a virtual event. 

The Institute of Chartered Secretaries of Bangladesh (ICSB) arranged the programme to celebrated the 'Anniversary of Institute's Foundation Day and Enactment of Chartered Secretaries Act, 2010’ on virtual platform on Thursday. 

Former Secretary, Ministry of Commerce, Suhel Ahmed Choudhury joined the event as chief guest with Muzaffar Ahmed FCMA, FCS, President of the Institute  in the chair.

Members including the Councilors and Office Bearers of the Institute attended the programme.

While addressing, the chief guest applauded the role of the Institute of Chartered Secretaries of Bangladesh for developing professional skills in the corporate sector.

In his welcome speech Muzaffar Ahmed FCMA, FCS President of the Institute mentioned that with the special initiative of Ministry of Commerce, the dream of the enactment of Chartered Secretaries came true in 2010. 

He guided the members to be more responsive in establishing the Institute as center for professional skill development and corporate governance. 

A.H.M Shafiquzzaman, Council Member, Additional Secretary, Ministry of Commerce hoped that the ICSB would work for further improvement of corporate management and good corporate governance in Bangladesh.

Among Past Presidents, AKA Muqtadir FCS, Mohammad Sanaullah FCS, Mohammad Asad Ullah LLM, FCS, Itrat Husain FCMA, FCS were also present on the occasion.
