Planning Minister MA Mannan has said that the country was progressing fast under the proper leadership of Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina. The government was paying the highest importance to the education sector. He was addressing as the chief guest at an exchange of view meeting on improvement of quality education at Inatganj High School premises at Nabiganj of Habiganj on Friday morning.
Declaring to contruct a five-storied building in Enatganj High School, the minister said, he has 500 crores of Taka at his hand for the development of Sylhet division. A part of the money has been spent for development of Jagannathpur and Daskhin Sunamganj and rest of the money will gradually be spent for development of all upazilas, he added. He also inaugurated the Bangabandhu corner at the school.
At the end of the function, in response to a query of journalists about the corruption in purchasing materials for Sheikh Hasina Medical College in Habiganj, the minister said, he was unaware of such allegation and advised the journos to submit the complaint to him with required proof. He also said, no one would be able to escape by resorting to corruption.

BSS adds: MA Mannan also said the country has witnessed a remarkable progress in the education sector due to the government’s implementation of massive effective and time-befitting programmes. “Our achievements in the education have been lauded globally… The government has attached priority to improving quality of education,” he said. Mannan said the government has taken various programmes incorporating ICT to ensure quality of education aiming to achieve the target of Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) by 2030.
“In a technology-based globalised world, quality education is crucial for any country. The government has realised the fact and executed its plans accordingly,” he added. Referring to different remarkable development programmes, the minister said the present government is sincerely working to build an economically advanced country. He urged the people of all levels to extend their helping hands to supplement the efforts of the government to make Bangladesh a happy and prosperous country.
