State Minister for Power, Energy and Mineral Resources Nasrul Hamid said the organisation would move forward quickly if it could take a timely decision.  “We have to face many losses due to indecision. The heads of the companies must work with risk,” he said. The minister was speaking as the chief guest at the signing ceremony of the annual performance agreement between the Department of Energy and Mineral Resources and the departments / agencies here on Sunday. He said the size of Bangladesh's economy is growing. The importance of fuel is increasing. It is advisable to try to implement the plan of how much fuel oil will be needed after five years, when and where to supply gas. As it is a Padma Bridge, it demands time to pipeline in the south-western region or bring Bhola gas into the mainstream. Having an annual performance contract is all about getting yourself ready to work hard. The Department of Energy and Mineral Resources must be at the forefront of APA implementation. Targeting of new gas wells, drilling of new / workover wells, production of gas, import of LNG, import of fuel oil, construction of gas and oil transmission pipelines, formulation of laws / rules / policies etc. have been included in the annual performance agreement. The inclusion of targets in the APA is accelerating the country's uninterrupted supply of fuel. Petrobangla Chairman Nazmul Ahsan, BPI Director General Mohammad Aminul Islam, Hydrocarbon Unit Director General Abul Khair Mohammad Aminpur Rahman, among others, presided over the function.

Naib Ali, GSB DG Mohammad Ilyas Hossain, BPC Secretary Mohammad Lal Hossain and heads of all departments / agencies were present. Meanwhile, the heads of Hydrocarbon Unit, BPI, BMD, Directorate of Explosives, GSB, Petrobangla and BPC signed an annual performance agreement with the senior secretary.
