Present government under the dynamic and visionary leadership of Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina has ensured labour-friendly atmospheres for boosting productivity in industries and factories throughout the country.
As a result of the owner-labour cordial relation, there was no unrest situation in the factories and industries, including the garments ones, during the last Eid-season.
Academics and other officials concerned made the observation while addressing a post-rally discussion to mark the Historic May Day 2023 in Rajshahi on Monday.
Divisional Labour Office discussion at Nanking Darbar Hall supported by District Administration largely attended by businessmen, labourers and members of the civil society.
This year's theme of the day is 'Sramik-Malik Oikyo Gori, Smart Bangladesh Gorey Tuli' (Let us forge worker-owner unity and build a smart Bangladesh).
Vice-chancellor of Rajshahi University Prof Golam Sabbir Sattar addressed the meeting as chief guest with Director of Divisional Labour Office Aminul Haque in the chair.
Additional Deputy Commissioner Anisul Islam, Deputy Inspector General of Department of Inspection for Factories and Establishments Ariful Islam, Senior Vice-president of Rajshahi Chamber of Commerce and Industries Awal Khan Chowdhury and labourers leaders Abdullah Khan and Abdus Sohel also spoke.
Prof Golam Sabbir said the present government has ensured a labour-friendly atmosphere for bolstering the industrial sector and welfare of the labourers in general.
The government has also been working relentlessly for protecting the legitimate rights of the workers as they play a vital role in the country's economic development.
He also said all the people should support the government's development process and strengthen the hands of Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina for furthermore development of the country.
"All of us should remain alert so that none can dare to obstruct the present development pace," Prof Sabbir said, adding that the smart Bangladesh will be attained before 2041.
