A body of government employees of 11th-20th grades placed an eight-point demand including elimination of pay inequality by declaring 9th pay scale through forming a permanent pay commission and fixing the difference in pay scale according to grade.
The demands were made at a human chain held in front of the National Press Club on Friday.
Member Secretary of the central convening council of the organization, Md Mahmudul Hasan said, “The present Prime Minister has done a lot for government employees, but due to bureaucratic complications, 11th-20th grade employees are deprived of its benefits. That is why, I am presenting our eight-point demand to the Prime Minister.”
Their other demands include implementation of one and the same recruitment rules, promotion to all posts or awarding of higher grades every five years and regularization of block posts, maintenance of salary seniority including timescale, reinstatement of selection grade, determination of allowances according to market demand, provision of quality rations at fair prices for low paid employees and maintenance of hundred percent pension as before, change of designation and grade like Secretariat and pay scale according to type and position of work.
Hundreds of government employees of 11th-20th grade from all over the country were present during this time.
