Environment, Forest and Climate Change Minister Shahab Uddin said that the Awami League government under the leadership of Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina is distributing free textbooks to primary, secondary and madrasa students to ensure education for all. For the development progress of the country, it is necessary to have 100% educated people with quality education to build a smart Bangladesh. So the government continued to distribute textbooks despite the global economic crisis.
He said these things in the speech of the chief guest at the inauguration of the newly constructed building with 4-storey foundation and 1-storey foundation of Baralekha Government Primary School in Moulvibazar on Sunday and the auspicious opening ceremony of 'Book Distribution and Child Welcome Festival 2023'.
The Environment Minister said that the government has significantly increased the salaries and allowances of primary school teachers so that they can live with dignity and provide quality education.
Teachers have to provide education competitively according to the needs of the age.
The minister said that special stairs have been kept in the new school buildings for the use of students with special needs.
Adequate number of modern wash blocks are being constructed as per the needs of the students.

After that, the minister laid the foundation stone of Darshanakhal and Mora Sonaikhal construction of Talimpur Union of Baralekha Upazila under the Minor Water Resources Project in a function organized at Kanai Girls High School in Baralekha and spoke as the chief guest in the function organized on the occasion.
