The government on Wednesday cancelled the permission that allowed JKG Health Care to collect Covid19 samples, setting makeshift booths in different areas in Dhaka.

The Directorate General of Health Services (DGHS) issued a circular in this regard signed by Additional Director General Prof Nasima Sultana.

Jobeda Khatun Shastha Seba (JKG) Health Care, a sister concern of Oval Group, had received the permission to test Covid-19 samples in April this year.

Police on Tuesday detained five people for their alleged involvement in providing Covid-19 test results without testing the samples.

They prepared the coronavirus test reports based on the symptoms shown by the victims.
If the victims showed symptoms similar to those of Covid-19, they gave them positive reports.
Similarly, when the victim did not show a symptom, they received Covid-19 negative reports.
All of them used to work at JKG Health Care. They left the job on April 12.

JKG was allowed, earlier, on condition that all collected samples would have to be sent to the laboratories designated by the government for coronavirus test.
