The Ministry of Information and Broadcasting has announced a revised jury board for the National Film Awards 2023. This updated lineup replaces some previously selected members and brings in new names to ensure diverse industry expertise.

According to the official notification, the additional secretary (Film) will serve as the chairperson of the board. Supporting this role, the vice chairman of the Bangladesh Film Certification Board will act as the member secretary. Additional members include the vice chairman of the Bangladesh Film Censor Board, the director general of the Bangladesh Film Archive, and a department head from the ministry.

Notable new members are actress Suchorita, actor Khaja Naim Murad, and music director Maksud Jamil Mintu. The board also welcomes cinematographer Barkat Hossain, singer Nazmun Munira Nancy, and director Saeedur Rahman. They join other respected industry figures like SM Imran Hossain, head of Dhaka University's Department of Television, Film, and Photography; Dilip Kumar Banik, managing director of the Bangladesh Film Development Corporation; and journalist Wahid Sujan.

The reformed jury will evaluate films released in 2023 to recommend award recipients in various categories, including acting, technical contributions, and other cinematic achievements. This revised board replaces previous members such as actor Ilias Kanchan, director Zahidur Rahim Anjan, music director Prince Mahmud, and actress Aupee Karim, though the ministry has not provided reasons for their exclusion.

The new jury lineup reflects a commitment to recognizing the best of Bangladeshi cinema, with a diverse panel aimed at fair and balanced selections across the film industry.
