The government on Thursday announced the Hajj packages for 2024, reducing the cost by Tk 92,450.
State Minister for Religious Affairs Md Faridul Haque Khan said the cost of general package for Hajj under the government arrangement has been fixed at Taka 5,78,840, which was Taka 6,71,320 in the last year.
Faridul, however, said the cost of the newly introduced special package under the government arrangement has been fixed at Taka 9,36,320.
A total of 1,27,198 pilgrims from Bangladesh could perform hajj in 2024, he said, adding that of them 10,198 pilgrim will get the opportunity to go under government arrangement and remaining 1,17,000 will have to go under private management.
In line with the government Hajj packages, the Hajj Agencies Association of Bangladesh (HAAB) will announce their packages for Hajj in 2024.
