National Film award winner Gazi Rakayet directorial film titled ‘Gor’ (‘The Grave’) it’s a story of a gravedigger who travels from village to village gathering information about deaths. The government-funded film released in both English and Bangla in December 2020.
It was the first English feature films of Bangladesh that has been shortlisted in the reminder list of productions eligible for the 94th Academy Awards, with 276 other films. The director of the film Gazi Rakayet has written the government-funded film story, dialogues, and screenplay. The film was released in both Bangla and English on two US-based digital platforms. ‘Gor’ (‘The Grave’) has also made a splash at the recently announced National Film Awards 2020 and received the best award in 11 categories.
This time Gazi Rakayet gave new news about the film 'Gor'. It is going to be released soon on the international OTT platform Amazon Prime.
Regarding the context Rakayet said, “Our film ‘Gor’ (‘The Grave’) will be released on Amazon Prime in a few days. All the process has been completed with them in this regard. I was told that they would release the movie any day.'
Besides directing the movie, Gazi Rakayet has written the story, dialogues and screenplay. The main character is played by the producer himself. The film features Dilara Zaman, Dipanwita, Moushumi Hamid, Sushoma Sarkar, and Shamima Tusty among others with guest appearances from SM Mohsin and Mamunur Rashid.
