Published : 02 Jul 2021 09:00 PM

Despite the weekly holiday on Friday, the activities of the Gopalganj district administration and law enforcement officers and members were eye-catching. There was very little movement of auto-rickshaws, rickshaws and vans in the city as compared to Thursday.

The Dhaka-Khulna highway was mostly empty except for emergency agricultural goods laden trucks and ambulances carrying patients. Gopalganj District Superintendent of Police Ayesha Siddique went out on Friday morning monitoring Launchghat check post, BSIC Industrial City Bridge, check post in front of Getpara Road building, police line junction, Bedgram-Bishbrod and Ghonapara check post till noon.

She expressed satisfaction over the fact that the officers and members of the law enforcement agencies deployed at the check posts ignored the harsh weather and performed their duties properly.

Additional Superintendent of Police Md Abdur Rahman, Additional Superintendent of Police Nihad Adnan Taiyan, Additional Superintendent of Police Md Khairul Alam, Officer-in-Charge of Gopalganj Sadar Police Station Md Monirul Islam and OC Sheetal Pal were present at the time.

Later, District Superintendent of Police Ayesha Siddique requested everyone to stay at home in the lockdown announced by the government.

Gopalganj district administration, law enforcement agencies including army, RAB, Ansar and VDP members have been seen patrolling in different areas of the district to implement the lockdown announced by the government.
