Gayaland Upazila Awami League held a human chain in front of Daulatdia Union Parishad on Sunday demanding justice for deceased Gani Mandal. About two to three thousand people were present in this human chain on the Dhaka-Khulna highway for about an hour.
Goalanda Upazila Parishad Chairman Alhaj Mostafa Mandal, Upazila Awami League General Secretary Biplob Ghosh, Organizing Secretary Nasir Uddin Rony, Joint General Secretary Mohammad Ali Mollah, Upazila Parishad Vice Chairman Asaduzzaman Chowdhury, Gani Mandal's brother Abdul Al Mamun and others spoke during programme.
Speakers at the programme said that hinous acts like this should be condemned and proper actions should be taken against the killers. They urged authorities to take immediate actions to speed up the investigation process.
Deceased Gani Mandal was shot dead by miscreants near his house on the Dhaka-Khulna highway in front of the Daulatdia Union Parishad around 10:30 pm on Wednesday (March 31). He died at Savar Enam Medical College Hospital around 11:30 pm on Thursday.
