Glam tricks for summer Eid

Eid to us means meeting a lot of people, eating together and going from one house to another. Even though the activities are pleasant, it can also be exhausting. We certainly want to be able to look fresh and beautiful all day on Eid celebration, but how do we do that?

The first step of having a flawless makeup look starts the night before! Yes ladies, we all want to have a flawless makeup look and spend a lot in makeup products not realizing a healthy skin is a vital part of your makeup look.

You will have a flawless base makeup only if you get rid of the dead cells from the surface of the skin and make your canvas clean, smooth and supple. With that being said, here are some tips on how can you achieve a flawless makeup base in this eid.

Sunscreen

Opt for an oil free, gel consistency sunscreen and let it dry completely before you start applying your makeup.

Primer

Choose a primer based on your skin type. A silicon based primer will be good for oily skin where as an oil free, non greasy hydrating primer is good for dry flaky skin.

Foundation

Switch to a foundation that is oil free and light weight. You want to use a long wear, light to medium coverage foundation so your skin can breathe and wont feel made up. Tinted moisturizers are the best alternatives that you can consider.

Also different applicators give your makeup different finish. Pressing foundation into your skin with a damp beauty blender might take a little bit of extra time and effort but it gives you a softened, seamless, airbrushed and natural finish.

Another trick I would suggest is to start applying your foundation on the outer edge of your face and slowly work your way inwards. The reason you want to do this is because as you work inwards the product gets less and less. And most of us tend to get oily in the t-zone so you really want to go light handed there. Remember the good old basic rule to avoid a cake face is "Less is more".

Avoid Concealer

The best technique would be applying your foundation prior to the concealer. That way you get to see if your foundation is covering the blemishes up and decide whether you need concealer or not.

Baking

The absolute must step that you can not avoid in summer is baking!! Baking means after you are done with all your liquids and creams, apply translucent powder generously specially on the t-zone where you tend to get oily and let it sit on your face for at least 5 to 10 minutes. Finish your eye makeup while you bake your face and when you are done, lightly dust the excess off with a powder brush. You can use the same damp beauty blender that you used to apply foundation with. This will help the makeup last longer and if done correctly you should not have any issues with creasing.

Go light with highlighters and shimmers

Lets just admit it! We all long for a nice dewy makeup look and invested a good amount of money in highlighters. However in summer you want to go light handed with the highlighters. Don't pack on heavy duty highlighters and shimmers if you don't want to end up looking like a disco ball. Ladies with oily skin should avoid the forehead, chin, bridge of the nose and may apply on the cheek bones, inner corner of the eyes, cupid's bow and a little bit on the tip of the nose.

Blotting papers

Carry blotting sheets in your purse and whenever you get oily, dab the sheets lightly to get rid of the oils and then if you want gently press a small amount of powder onto your face instead of swiping it. This way your foundation will not move around and you will get rid of the shine.

Last but not least, don’t forget to always wear a sincere smile to make yourself more beautiful.
