Girls lead boys in GPA-5 in HSC exams

Girls have overtaken boys in the Higher Secondary Certificate and equivalent assessments of 2020 with 83,338 girls receiving GPA-5, compared to 78,469 boys.

The results were graded without holding the exams due to Covid-19 pandemic. Some 161,807 students got GPA-5 in HSC examinations-2020, which is 11.83 percent of the total students.

A total of 13, 67,377 HSC examinees were registered for the exams in 2020. The scheduled examinations were cancelled due to the coronavirus outbreak.

Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina unveiled the results through videoconferencing from her official residence Ganabhaban in the capital on Saturday.

Education Minister Dipu Moni received a summary of the results on behalf of Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina from the chairmen of the education boards at a ceremony at the International Mother Language Institute in the capital.
