We extend our heartiest greetings and warm felicitations to the Bangladesh Under-19 Women Football Team for achieving the victory over India in SAFF U-19 Women's Championship. Their win has added a new dimension as the nation is celebrating coinciding with the two giant events - birth centenary of the Father of the Nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman and golden jubilee of the country's independence in this month of victory. We hope that this trend of victory would continue in days to come.
This victory will also boost up the confidence of players and coaches in the upcoming international football tournament. Our girls played good football in the group stage and proved that they are the only contender of the title. Every player’s performance is important not only to make an impact in football quickly but also to help Bangladesh do better in the international tournament.
Our girls will have to overcome every obstacle that appears before them. Besides, they will also have to be determined in moving forward breaking all social barriers.
We all have to change our
mindset and attitudes
towards women
So, if we can keep our girls involved in sports and cultural practices regularly alongside education for having a sound mind and body they will not go astray, never get addicted to drugs and engage in other anti-social activities.
The government is implementing various programs to strengthen the position of women in the society, to create women leadership and to increase women education. In this regard, we all have to change our mentality and bring changes in our minds and attitudes toward the girls.
We must believe that women are not just objects of enjoyment, women are co-fighters and co-partners, and they have to move forward equally and be given equal rights.
Our girls are now working in many risky places and they are also operating fighter planes. Therefore, we can now say our girls are no longer lagging behind in any area.
The biggest thing is that women can do better than men in some cases. Therefore, apart from football, we think our young girls will be roaring in the future as they have the strength and capacity to beat any team whatever they might be in all other sectors.
