Meghna Das, 17, a Child Parliament member of Keshabpur Upazila NCTF, took charge as Keshabpur Sadar Union Parishad Chairman in Jashore for one hour on Tuesday.
Md Alauddin, Chairman of Keshabpur Sadar Union Parishad, handed over his responsibilities to Meghna from 11.00 am to 12.00 noon in collaboration with Plan International Bangladesh on the occasion of “World Girl Child Day 2020”.
The theme of this year's World Girl Child Day 2020 was “I am a girl, equal in online freedom”. The Acting Chairman Meghna Das met with UP members, UP Secretaries, journalists, locals, village police and the general public as well as listened to the sufferings of the people at the time.
She also advised to end child marriages, violence-harassment against women bring equality between girls and boys as well as expressed her gratitude to all for giving her this opportunity.
Finally, the Chairman of Keshabpur Sadar Union Parishad assured that he would try to solve the problems highlighted by Meghna Das on a priority basis. He also said he would raise these issues with UNO and the government.
