BNP's Vice Chairman and former Member of Parliament, Alhaj Gias Uddin Kader Chowdhury, has made a resolute pledge to continue participating in elections, declaring, "As long as I have blood in my body, I will contest elections, and I will contest, Insha'Allah."

He made these remarks as the chief guest at a massive public rally organized by the upazila and municipal units of the BNP and its associate bodies at Rauzan Government College ground on Friday afternoon. The event was held to mark the 7th November, observed as the National Revolution and Solidarity Day by the party.

Addressing senior BNP leaders, Chowdhury, a four-time former MP who attended a rally in Rauzan after 22 years, emphasized his deep ties to the area, stating, "My blood is mixed with the blood of the people of Rauzan."

Reflecting on his personal sacrifices, he said, "I lost my father in jail, I lost my brother in jail. Perhaps I would have also died in jail. But the love of the people has kept me going."

Labeling the Awami League government as autocratic, he claimed, "During the reign of the autocratic government, even the Imams of mosques and priests could not speak freely."

He also called for resisting drug dealers, alleging, "Drug traders do business by bribing the police. My appeal is that the police should not become traders themselves."

The rally was presided over by Nurul Huda, Convener of Rauzan Upazila BNP, and jointly conducted by Firoz Ahmed, its Joint Convener. Among others who spoke were former district BNP member Abu Jafar Chowdhury, former municipal BNP general secretary Syed Manjurul Haque, and other local party leaders.
