Now, people demand justice from me even for the murder of a single person but on August 15, members of my family consisting three Freedom Fighters, two of my army officer brothers including the Father of the Nation were killed and I still did not get justice of those brutal murders.
Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina was speaking through video conferencing from Gono Bhaban at the discussion meeting and Doa Mahfil organised on the 71st Birth Anniversary of Shahid Sheikh Kamal by the Youth and Sports Ministry on Wednesday ( Aug-5).
Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina during this time said, ' the conscience of the Struggle for Freedom has been destroyed on August-15 of 1975. The armed forces members have killed the Father of the Nation, his family members as well as their fellow members. '
Recalling her memory the Prime Minister said, ' Had intelligent, sports and cultural personality like Sheikh Kamal been alive, he would contribute a lot for the society and the country. As a son of Prime Minister, Sheikh Kamal did nothing for himself rather after his marriage, he was provided with a room on the second floor of House-32 so that he can live there with his wife.'
She mentioned,' though all children had the opportunity to go to the school by holding hands of their fathers, we did not have that chance. Since my father Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman had devoted his life for the welfare of the country and its people, Shiekh Kamal, as the elder child of the family, had to take the burden of the family with mother side by side with the practices of sports and culture from the early stage of his life.'
Prime Minister also inaugurates a publication on the occasion of the birthday of Sheikh Kamal.
