“Geological knowledge is essential for the geographical, environmental, agricultural, climate and infrastructure sectors”, said Prof. Dr. Mosammat Hossain Ara, the acting Vice-Chancellor (VC) of Khulna University.
She said was addressing as the chief guest at a seminar on ‘Geo Information for Urban Planning and Adaptation to Climate Change’, organized by Water and Environment Discipline on Thursday.
“Geological surveys and soil characterization are very effective in building settlements on land, in the context of continuous urban flow and rapid urbanization”, she added.
Treasurer Professor Sadhan Ranjan Ghosh and Dean of the School of Biology Professor Khan Golam Kuddus addressed the seminar as special guests.
The seminar was presided over by Prof. Md. Sanaul Islam, Head of Soil, Water and Environment Discipline. Teachers and students of the Discipline were present at the time.
