In the name of Sir Amdani, huge amount of government money was wasted, farmers fear that crop production will be affected due to fertilizer shortage in the current season. If the production of urea is stopped for a long time, the farmers and traders of the area fear that the farmers and traders of the area will suffer greatly, including Jamalpur, Sherpur, Mymensingh, Tangail, Rajbari, 16 districts of North Bengal, including the upcoming Amon-Eri Boro season, along with the artificial sir crisis in the Iri Boro season. Sir production has stopped due to gas shortage and power loadshedding.
As a result, fertilizer supply to farmers will be disrupted in the upcoming Aman-Eri Boro season if fertilizer production is not carried out in time. Due to this, the local people are fearing the disruption of crop production along with causing huge damage to the dealers and farmers. The businessmen complain that a dishonest circle, in order to achieve their own interests, stops the production of the Jamuna Sir factory every year under various pretexts and makes the country dependent on Sir Imports. Later, they skilfully grabbed large chunks of government money in the name of importing fertilizers.
Fertilizer traders Sarkar Abul Hossain, Farooq Hossain said that since the past, we have been noticing that every year, on various pretexts, the production of factories is stopped and low-quality fertilizers are imported from abroad at several times higher prices. The government has to pay a subsidy of 80,000 taka per one ton of these imported sirs. By this the government is suffering huge losses but an unscrupulous vicious circle is profiting. On the other hand, even though sir production is stopped in the factory, every day thousands of officials and employees spend their idle time and take crores of government money at the end of the month. Jamalpur human rights activist Jahangir Salim in this regard he said, there are about 1600 officers and employees in Jamuna sir factory.
By keeping the factories of these officials and employees closed, without paying crores of rupees every month and even thousands of crores of rupees in the name of Sir Importer, the government can supply gas and continue the production. He mentioned that the government will not have to count the loss of billions of rupees. In this regard, the Managing Director (MD) of Jamuna Sir Factory, Engineer Md. Zakir Hossain expressed his inability to give his statement on this matter.
Abdul Hakeem, General Manager (Operation) of Jamuna Sir Factory said on the phone, Sir production has stopped due to gas shortage and electrical load shedding. He also said that 1700 May per day in Jamuna Sarkarkhana. 45 million cubic feet of gas is required to produce a ton of urea sir. If there is no regular gas and electricity load-shedding, it is possible to produce fertilizer again. Tarakandi Sir Karkana Truck Owners Association General Secretary Ashraful Islam Manik said, Sir there are 420 trucks in the factory. About 840 drivers, helpers and truck owners are involved in these trucks.
In addition, thousands of factory-based workers are engaged in earning income and living with their families. If the factory is closed, their income also stops. He said that the factory alone supplies food to thousands of families.
