Presented by Bengal Foundation, a two-day musical programme titled ‘Gaaner Jharnatalay’ concluded on Tuesday at the Chhayanaut Auditorium in Dhanmondi of the capital.
On the concluding day, artistes of National Rabindra Sangeet Sammilan Parishad (Dhaka Mahanagar) presented monsoon songs of Pancha Kabi. They rendered a number of popular songs, such as ‘Oi Ase Oti Bhoirab Harshe’, ‘Badol Jhum Jhum Bole’, ‘Probol Ghono Megh Aji’, ‘Borsha Ailo Oi’, ‘Se Keno Dekha Dilo’, ‘Aji Ridoy Amar’, ‘Eso Nipobone Chhayabithi Tole’, ‘Momo Momo Upobone’, ‘Godhuli Gogone Meghe’, ‘Bodhu Emon Badole’, ‘Amar Ki Bedona’, ‘Eso He Sajal Shyam Ghono Deya’, ‘Ojhor Dharay Borsha Jhore’, Jhoro Jhoro Bari Jhore’ and ‘Rumjhum Rumjhum Nupur Bole’.
At the event, the artistes were accompanied by Enamul Haque Omar and Iftekhar Alom Dolar on tabla, Robin Chowdhury on keyboard, Asit Biswas on esraj, Feroz Khan on setar, and Pradip Kumar Ray on mandira.
The first day of the programme was dedicated to Subir Nandi. At the event on Monday, Falguni Nandi (daughter of Subir Nandi) and singer Sadia Afrin discussed about life and works of late iconic singer Subir Nandi. After discussion, young singer Jarif Ekram and Oisarja Samaddar rendered Nazrul Sangeet at the event on Monday. The first day of the programme came to an end with the rendition of noted singer Priyanka Gope.
