Chitalmari police in Bagerhat arrested Md Panna Biswas, 45, a fugitive sentenced to five years imprisonment at 12 noon on Sunday. He was arrested from his home in Chingari village of Kalatala union of the upazila. Arrestee Panna Biswas is the son of Khoka Biswas of the village.
Chitalmari police station Officer-in-Charge Mir Shariful Haque said Panna Biswas was accused in a 2007 narcotic case. Court sentenced him to 5 years imprisonment and there is a arrest warrant against him.
A team of police arrested him from his house around 12 noon. The arrestee Panna Biswas was sent to the court at 2 pm on Sunday, he added.
