Members of the Rapid Action Battalion (RAB) arrested a fugitive life-term convict from the city's Chawkbazar area on Saturday.
The arrested was identified as Md Zafar, 40, son of Sofiq Ahmed alias Sukkur Ali, a resident of Bhola district.
Deputy Director of RAB-10 Aminul Islam said "Acting on a tip-off, a team of RAB conducted a drive in the area at around 7:15pm and nabbed him,". A case was filed against him with Chattogram Kotwali Police Station in 2012 for possessing illegal firearms.
Later, a court, in absentia, sentenced him to 22 years of jail.
