Bangladesh Red Crescent Society Chattogram District and City Unit in collaboration with Jubo Red Crescent, Chattogram organized the 7th Divisional Jubo Red Crescent Camp closing ceremony held in the port city.
Land Minister Saifuzzaman Chowdhury announced the end of the program as the chief guest at the 7th Chattogram Divisional Youth Red Crescent Camp at Chattogram Physical Education College on Saturday.
Lands Minister Saifuzzaman Chowdhury MP was present as the chief guest in the closing ceremony under the chairmanship of MA Salam, Bangladesh Red Crescent Society. Chattogram MP MA Latif, Chattogram District Red Crescent Unit and Chattogram Zilla Parishad Chairman ATM Pearul Islam, Society Vice Chairman Md Nur-ur Rahman were present as special guests. The guests of honour were Rizia Sultana Luna, Member of the Managing Board of the Society, Dr. Sheikh Shafiul Azam, Member of the Managing Board of the Society and Vice Chairman of District Red Crescent, Sikdar Noor Mohammad Dulu, Md. Land minister said that the front-liner fighters of the Red Crescent will play a pioneering role in the formation of the country. We have expertly trained Red Crescent Volunteers participating by infusing Red Crescent knowledge with the energy of youth. Red Crescent volunteers are always the first to jump in wherever humanity is in crisis. Volunteers are ready and prepared at every level including Chattogram city area, upazila level. History of the Red Cross and Red Crescent as a global service organization Makes no distinction between caste, tribe, religious creed, class or political creed. As this organization is a voluntary relief organization, this movement does not work for the purpose of gaining any interest or profit. I believe that by camping in Chattogram today, Red Crescent volunteers will be trained and networked.
Its mentioned that 1,450 youth volunteers and responsible teachers are participating for four days from 68 units across the country including 15 upazilas of Chattogram district, city corporation area educational institutions. 8 Sub Camps named after the martyr Captain Sheikh Kamal and 7 Bir Shrestha Sub Camps were made in order to make the arrivals orderly and the camps run smoothly.
