Friendship is building a 30-bed hospital in Cox’s Bazar with French assistance.

French Ambassador Jean-Marin Schuh was present at the hospital construction inauguration programme on Thursday.

Cox’s Bazar is hosting over 1.1 million Rohingya refugees.  Because of Rohingya, locals are being deprived of basic rights including health and education. The hospital is going to be built at Balukhali of Ukhia Upazila in Cox’s Bazar.

The ambassador said as a result of sheltering displaced Rohingya, Bangladesh is facing many challenges.

“Therefore, France has stood beside Bangladesh and come forward with various humanitarian assistances. As a part of it, the hospital is being constructed.”

Friendship said the hospital will give service to over 150 patients each day.

There will be modern facilities like emergency, outdoor service, dispensary, pathology, laboratory, operation theatre, and women and children health care services.

There will also be family planning service at the hospital.
