Friends is one of the greatest American sit coms of all time. It was created by David Crane and Marta Kauffman. Friends was first aired on September 22, 1994 on NBC and the last episode was aired on May 6, 2004 lasting 10 seasons. The cast consisted of David Schwimmer, Matthew Perry, Matt Le Blanc, Jennifer Aniston, Courtney Cox and Lisa Kudrow.

Months after the 25th anniversary of Friends, the cast is expected to get together for a reunion special episode which would be unscripted. An episode all Friends fans have been waiting forever since the show has ended. It will also help launch the upcoming streaming platform, HBO Max, where Friends is one of the main attractions.
After negotiations with the cast, they have reached an agreement with series producer Warner Bros. TV. It will be an hour long episode and each of the six stars will be paid at least $3 million to $4 million. The special, in which co-creators/executive producers Marta Kauffman and David Crane are expected to have some involvement, is designed to help launch Friends reruns on HBO Max. The streamer shelled out $425 million for rights to the hugely popular sitcom, which has emerged as one of Netflix’s biggest hits.

The cast had posted a 25 year reunion selfie on Instagram which crossed 1 million likes in one day which shows how popular and relevant the sitcom still is.
